How to use the Listicle Pin Series Maker

  1. 1

    Paste the list

Enter the post title and link, then paste the items one per line. Numbers are optional. Put a short description after a colon, or on the line below the item.

  2. 2

    Choose the style

Pick a color style and a font. Add photos if you have them: the first goes on the cover and the rest go on the items in order.

  3. 3

    Download the series

Flip through the pins in the preview, download one PNG, or download the whole series as a ZIP with a pinterest-bulk-upload.csv ready to schedule.

A list post such as "15 Ways to Save on Groceries" holds a whole series of pins. Each item answers a smaller search on its own, so one post can reach people looking for meal planning, bulk buying and store brands, and every pin sends them back to the same article. Bloggers who pin a list one item at a time get weeks of fresh pins from a single post.

Paste the post title and the numbered items, with a short description after a colon if you like. The tool makes a cover pin and one pin per item in the same style, labels each with its place in the list, and puts them all in a ZIP with a Pinterest bulk upload CSV that links every pin to your post.

Writing items that work as pins

Each item pin is seen on its own in the feed, so the item text should make sense without the rest of the list. "Buy store brands for staples" works; "Number three" does not. Start with a verb or the thing people search for, and keep it under about ten words.

The description line gives the reason or the result in a few words. It is printed smaller under the item, and it is also used as that pin's Pinterest description in the CSV, followed by the post title.

How to schedule a pin series

Publish the cover pin first, then add one or two item pins a day or a few a week. Spreading them out keeps your profile active and gives each pin its own chance in the feed. Fill the Publish date column in the CSV, or let a scheduler handle it.

Save item pins to the boards that fit each item best rather than all to one board. For a set of different designs for a post that is not a list, try the blog post to pin set. For step-by-step how-to content in a single tall pin, use the step by step pin maker.

Listicle Pin Series Maker FAQ

What format should my list be in?

One item per line. Numbers like "1." or "3)" and bullets are removed. Add a description after a colon, or on its own line under the item.

How many items can a series have?

Up to 30 items plus the cover. The count on each pin, as in "#3 of 15", is the number of items you pasted, so make it match the number in your title.

Do I need a photo for every item?

No. Items without a photo get a solid color design that matches the rest of the series. Add photos in the order of the list: the first is the cover, the second is item 1, and so on.

What does the ZIP contain?

The cover pin and one 1000 × 1500 PNG per item, named after the post title and item, plus pinterest-bulk-upload.csv with a title, description and your post link for each pin.

Will Pinterest see these as duplicate pins?

No. Each pin has different text and a different title, so they are distinct pins that all link to one post. That is a common way to promote list posts.
