A content calendar answers the question that stalls most pinning sessions: what should I make this week? Planning a few weeks of themes at once lets you batch designs, keep a balance of topics and get seasonal pins out early enough to matter.

This template builds a 4 to 12 week calendar from your niche. Each week gets a seasonal focus, drawn from the holidays whose pinning window is open that week, and three pin themes: two from a rotating set of content pillars and one tied to the season. Every cell is editable, your edits are saved in this browser, and you can download the plan as CSV or print it.

    How the calendar is planned

Content pillars are the handful of topics your account is known for. Rotating through them week by week keeps your boards balanced and stops one topic taking over. The third theme each week goes to the season: if a holiday's pinning window is open, it suggests a pin for it; if not, it adds another pillar.

Seasonal windows use the same lead times as the seasonal pin planner: up to 90 days for big planning holidays such as Christmas, Halloween and Easter, and 45 to 60 days for smaller dates.

    Turning themes into pins

A theme is a starting point for one or more posts and several pin designs. For each theme, pick the page you will link to, write a hook with the Pinterest hook ideas list and make three to five designs.

When the designs are ready, the fresh pin planner turns them into a day-by-day publishing schedule.

    Pinterest Content Calendar FAQ

What should a Pinterest content calendar include?

At minimum, the week or date, the topic or post to pin, and any seasonal event you are preparing for. Many people also track the number of fresh designs and the boards each pin goes to.

How far ahead should I plan Pinterest content?

Plan at least four to eight weeks ahead, and further for big holidays. Seasonal pins need to go out 45 to 90 days before the date, so a 12 week plan catches most of them in time.

Can I use this template in Google Sheets?

Yes. Download the CSV and open it with File, Import in Google Sheets, or open it directly in Excel or Numbers.

How many themes should I pin each week?

Three themes a week, each with a few fresh designs, is a manageable pace for one person. Increase it if you have more posts and time to make designs.

    Are my edits saved?

Yes, in this browser only. They are kept until you change the niche, start date or number of weeks, or press Rebuild. Download a CSV to keep a copy.
