Bulk Pin Creator: Make and Upload Pinterest Pins in Bulk
There are two separate jobs in bulk pinning: making the images, and getting them onto Pinterest. This guide covers both, with the CSV limits Pinterest documents and a free tool for the first job.
The short answer
Use the free bulk pin maker to turn a list of titles into up to 100 matching pins, downloaded as one ZIP. Then upload them to Pinterest. Pinterest lets a business account upload up to 200 images or videos per CSV, from a desktop only. Keep each description to 500 characters or fewer, because Pinterest gives 500 on one page and 800 on another.
Make pins in bulk with the free tool
The bulk pin maker runs in your browser, so photos are not uploaded anywhere, and it adds no watermark. It works like this:
- Paste your titles. One per line, or switch to CSV format with a title and a subtitle on each line. Titles with commas need double quotes.
- Choose one style. Pick colors, font, pin size and your website. Add background photos if you like. The first pin gets the first photo, and photos repeat when they run out.
- Check and download. Flip through each pin, fix long titles, then download all as a ZIP of numbered PNG files.
Need variety? The pin variations generator makes several designs of one idea, and the blog post to pin set tool builds a group from one post. Draft headlines with the title generator.
Pinterest bulk upload CSV facts
These facts come from the Pinterest bulk upload help page, checked on November 7, 2026:
- You need a business account. See how to set one up.
- A single CSV can include up to 200 images or videos.
- Use the desktop site: Settings, then Import content, then Upload .csv or .txt file. Mobile devices cannot bulk upload.
- Media must be a publicly accessible link to the file itself, not a page that shows the file.
- Missing boards or sections named in the file are created automatically.
- After upload you get a confirmation email, and Pinterest may contact you if something needs review.
- In the US only, video Pins can also be uploaded with a .txt file, up to 200 videos a day.
CSV columns and limits
| Column | Required | Rule |
|---|---|---|
| Title | Yes | 100 characters at most |
| Media URL | Yes | Public link to the image or video file |
| Pinterest board | Yes | Board name, with an optional section after a slash |
| Thumbnail | Videos only | A time (mm:ss), a number of seconds, or an image link with the same aspect ratio. Blank for images |
| Description | No | 500 characters at most on this page |
| Link | No | Destination address for the Pin |
| Publish date | No | Future date schedules the Pin, add a UTC time for a specific time, blank publishes now |
| Keywords | No | Comma separated list |
Build and check the file with the free bulk upload CSV builder, which flags problems Pinterest rejects. Count characters with the character counter.
The 500 versus 800 conflict
Pinterest does not agree with itself here. The Pin specs page says a description can be up to 800 characters. The bulk upload page says 500 for the Description column. We cannot tell which is current for bulk files, so the safe choice is 500 or fewer, which satisfies both pages. Also note that the Pin specs page says descriptions do not appear in the home or search feed, so put your most important words in the title and the first sentence.
A workflow from list to Pinterest
- List the posts or products and write two or three title angles for each.
- Make the images in the bulk pin maker, at 1000 by 1500 pixels, which is Pinterest recommended 2:3 ratio.
- Host the PNG files at public addresses, for example on your own site or storage you control.
- Fill the CSV with title, media link, board, description, link and publish dates, spread across days.
- Upload on desktop, then check your profile for the Pins and any error email.
If you would rather not host files, upload the ZIP contents on Pinterest directly (desktop allows selecting up to 10 images at a time, each becoming its own Pin), or schedule them with a dashboard. See the Pinterest scheduler guide for the limits of each route.
Bulk without looking spammy
Pinterest favors fresh pins, meaning new images even for the same link, but it also bars spam. Pinterest community guidelines restrict repetitive or deceptive content, and its Affiliate Guidelines say not to create affiliate Pins repetitively or in large volumes. A good bulk run varies the angle of each title, not just the colors, and spreads publishing over days or weeks. See the affiliate rules if your pins carry affiliate links.
Mistakes that make a CSV fail
- A Media URL that points to a web page instead of the file.
- A title over 100 characters.
- A Publish date in the wrong format. Pinterest says the Pin will not publish.
- Uploading from mobile.
- For video: a missing Thumbnail value.
