Pinterest Affiliate Marketing: Networks, Rules and Tools

You can use affiliate links on Pinterest, but Pinterest has written rules about disclosure, volume and link shorteners. This hub covers those rules, nine affiliate networks, and what Quick Pin Maker tools are designed to do for each.

The short answer

Affiliate links are allowed on Pinterest when you follow the Pinterest Affiliate Guidelines: original content that adds value, clear disclosure, moderate use and generally a single account. Beyond Pinterest, every affiliate network has its own program terms, including where its links may be placed, so read those too. We make no income claims on this page. Results vary widely and depend on your content, niche and audience.

Pinterest affiliate rules

These points come from the Pinterest commercial and branded content guidelines, checked on November 7, 2026:

Pinterest community guidelines also bar spam automation that Pinterest has not approved. That is one reason this site recommends tools that use official publishing routes and your own scheduling pace. See the Pinterest scheduler guide.

Link to a post or link direct

There are two ways to use any network on Pinterest. You can link a Pin to your own blog post, where the affiliate links sit inside useful content, or you can link a Pin straight to a merchant page with your tracking link. The first route gives you a page you control, lets you disclose clearly and keeps Pins varied. The second is faster but is the pattern Pinterest warns about when it is repetitive or high volume. For most creators the post route is the safer default. If you run WordPress, the WordPress to Pinterest guide shows the full setup, and the Affiliate Links plugin (coming soon) is designed to manage links across programs.

The nine networks at a glance

The table lists what Quick Pin Maker is designed to do for each network. These integrations use your own keys and have not been tested against the live services of the networks, so we describe intent, not guaranteed behavior.

The free pin tools run in your browser, need no keys and add no watermark. The dashboard connections are part of the paid platform; the Impact, CJ, Rakuten and eBay connections are on the Business and Agency plans. Pinner, the dashboard assistant, can read this data when you ask. Plans start with Free at $0 and 30 pins a month, then Starter at $17, Pro at $27 and Business at $99 a month, plus Agency with custom pricing, as listed on the pricing section.

Amazon Associates

Amazon Associates is the affiliate program run by Amazon, and links carry your Associates tracking ID. Amazon sets its own operating rules for where links can appear and how to disclose them, so read the program agreement before you pin. Quick Pin Maker has no Amazon account connection. What it offers is the free Amazon listing to Pinterest pin maker, which stacks one to three listing photos with the title, price and seller name on a 2:3 pin. Note that Pinterest says Amazon stores cannot be claimed as a website, so Pins from Amazon pages will not show your profile as the source.

ClickBank

ClickBank is a marketplace of mostly digital products, and affiliates promote them using a hoplink with a tracking ID. In the dashboard, the design is that you create an API key in ClickBank and save it under Pinner settings. Pinner can then read sales and orders grouped by tracking ID, product, vendor and country. It reports sales amount, not commission, and does not read customer names, emails, addresses or phones. This connection has not been tried against the live ClickBank service yet.

Walmart

Walmart affiliate links are issued through its affiliate program and, in our design, an Impact publisher ID. The dashboard is designed to use your own Walmart API credentials for product search, trending products and categories, and to build an affiliate link when you have saved a publisher ID. Product data is not stored. Untested against the live service. For quick pins, use the free Walmart listing to pin tool.

Etsy

There are two different cases. If you sell on Etsy, you cannot claim the shop as a website on Pinterest, so link Pins to your listings or to your own site. If you promote other shops as an affiliate, our design reads public Etsy listing data with your own Etsy key, and builds an Awin link when your Awin details are saved. Etsy API terms apply and Etsy may require approval for commercial use, so check them. Use the Etsy listing to pin maker for the design side.

Awin, Impact, CJ and Rakuten

These four are larger networks that connect you with many brands. In each case the dashboard is designed around a key or token you copy from the network, stored encrypted, never shown to the AI model, with nothing from the network stored.

eBay Partner Network

eBay links are built from your campaign ID. In the dashboard, the link tool needs only that ID and makes no call to eBay. Searching items uses the eBay Browse API with your own keys and works only after eBay approves your application, which it can refuse. eBay earnings are read in your Partner Network dashboard, as we have no reporting tool for it. Pinterest also says eBay stores cannot be claimed, but eBay hosted pages need no rich Pin markup.

Frequently asked questions

Are affiliate links allowed on Pinterest?

Yes, under the Pinterest Affiliate Guidelines. Content should be original and add unique value, you should be clear about its commercial nature, and affiliate links should be used in moderation. Pinterest also says to generally operate only one account.

Do I have to disclose affiliate links on Pinterest?

Pinterest asks you to be transparent about the commercial nature of your content and links. Its Paid Partnership section calls for a clear disclosure such as the label #ad or the paid partnership label. Your network and local law may add rules of their own.

Can I use a link shortener for affiliate Pins?

Some shortener services are not supported and links can be blocked. If a Pin link is blocked, Pinterest says you can edit it. Linking to your own blog post is the safer route.

How many affiliate Pins can I post?

Pinterest says not to create affiliate Pins repetitively or in large volumes. It points to its spam policy and asks for affiliate links in moderation, so build varied pins rather than copies.

Does Quick Pin Maker connect to affiliate network accounts?

The dashboard is designed to read data from several networks using your own API keys, which you save and which are stored encrypted. These connections have not yet been tested against the live network services, so treat them as early. The free pin tools need no keys at all.
