Pinterest Scheduler: How Scheduling Works and Its Limits
Pinterest can schedule Pins for you, but only on a business account, up to 30 days ahead and up to 10 at a time. Here is what that means, what you can edit, and what to do when it is not enough.
The short answer
Native Pinterest scheduling needs a business account. You can pick a publish date up to 30 days ahead, you schedule one Pin at a time, and up to 10 future Pins can be queued. After scheduling you can change the date, title, board, description and link, but not the image or video. When that is too tight, you can plan with a calendar, upload a CSV, or use a scheduler that publishes through the Pinterest API.
How native scheduling works
| Question | Answer from Pinterest |
|---|---|
| Who can schedule | Business accounts only |
| How far ahead | Up to 30 days |
| How many | One Pin at a time, up to 10 future Pins queued |
| Editable afterward | Date, title, board, description, link |
| Not editable | Image or video |
| Where to see them | On your profile, above published Pins |
| Delete | Ellipsis icon on the scheduled Pin, then Delete |
Pinterest says its instructions cover standard Pins. These numbers were checked on November 7, 2026 and can change.
Steps on desktop and in the app
Desktop. Log in to your business account, click Create and then Create Pin. Select an image or video. You can select up to 10 images, and each one becomes its own Pin. Fill in the details, choose Publish at a later date, set the day and time, and finish the Pin.
App. Tap the plus icon, then Pin, choose your media, fill in the details, use the schedule date field, tap Schedule, check the date and time, and tap Schedule again. In the app, selecting several images or videos combines them into one video Pin, so use desktop if you want separate Pins.
Before you schedule, make sure the image is final, because it is the one thing you cannot change. Check sizes in the pin size guide.
What 10 Pins over 30 days means
Pinterest says up to 10 future Pins, which most plainly means 10 waiting at once. It does not spell out what happens at the limit, so we do not guess. If you fill every slot and spread them across 30 days, that is roughly one Pin every three days. For a blog with many posts that is slow, so the practical method is a rolling queue: top up the slots each week as older Pins publish.
Ways to plan beyond the limit
- Plan outside Pinterest. The Pinterest content calendar builds a multi week plan from your niche that you can edit and download.
- Pick timing from your own data. The best time to pin calculator gives general guidance, not measured data from your account. Pinterest does not publish best hours, so check your Analytics.
- Upload a CSV. Pinterest allows up to 200 images or videos per upload from desktop, and a future Publish date schedules each Pin. Build the file with the bulk upload CSV builder and see the bulk pin creator guide.
- Use an API scheduler. Apps that connect through the Pinterest API are limited by API access. Pinterest lists Trial access at 1,000 requests per day and Standard access at 100 requests per second per user per app. Pinterest also bars spam automation it has not approved, so avoid tools that mimic clicks or logins.
Scheduling with Quick Pin Maker
The dashboard connects to Pinterest with Pinterest login. You can publish a pin now or schedule it, edit and reschedule a scheduled pin without using another pin credit, and see everything on a calendar and a queue. The design behind it is built for reliability:
- Each pin is one timed job, and queuing it twice does nothing.
- If Pinterest returns a temporary error or rate limit, the job retries up to four times with growing waits.
- Before a retry, the board is checked for a pin with the same title and link, to avoid a duplicate.
- If Pinterest rejects the login, the pin fails at once, the account is flagged for reconnecting and the pin credit is returned.
- A pin credit is returned if a pin is cancelled or fails after the last retry.
Delivery is at least once, and one server runs the workers, so a rare crash can delay a pin. Pinterest app access also decides what an app may do, and we do not claim a result beyond that. We make this product, so weigh our view accordingly.
Plan limits
Scheduling and the calendar are in every plan. What changes is how many pins you can publish a month and how many Pinterest accounts you can connect.
| Plan | Price | Pins a month | Pinterest accounts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 30 | 1 |
| Starter | $17 a month | 200 | 1 |
| Pro | $27 a month | 600 | 3 |
| Business | $99 a month | 2,000 | 10 |
| Agency | Custom | 5,000 | 25 |
Prices and limits come from our plan list and can change. Paid plans also include AI tokens for Pinner and image storage.
A simple weekly routine
- Pick the posts or products to promote this week.
- Make two or three pins for each in the free pin maker or the bulk pin maker.
- Write titles and descriptions using the Pinterest SEO guide.
- Schedule them on different days, never all at once.
- Review saves and outbound clicks in Analytics and repeat what works.
Plan first, then schedule
Make the pins free in your browser, or connect Pinterest in the dashboard to schedule them.
